Yes, in addition to php-4.2.2, gd 1.8.4 is installed on all servers. These are the latest stable versions of both php and gd.
To see this in action, look at any of state pages on http://www.weddingministers.com/ . All the listings are done with php & the gd library. This is just one of many sites on our servers using the php & gd library to greate graphics.
