Ok I have no idea what is going on but I'm getting extremely frustrated over these connection issues that I have been having!

Again things used to work 100% fine connecting to my sites via FTP but all of a sudden nothing seems to be working properly anymore.
Now I know you guys have updates stuff, and I find it great that you stay of top of security and constantly improve hosting but without telling us what is being done I feel that all this frustration could be avoided if we had a clue on what is going on!

That said, I recently had to update my user ID to log in to the account manager (my old one wasn't long enough). Ever since the change of username ***t have gone south!
I cannot view any of my sites FTPing using the Nightskyhosting account login. I had to create an additional FTP account which works but now doesn't seem to let me transfer into protected directories.
FTPing using the "default" account will show nothing at all!
SSH did work at some point but it's now giving me an "No Further authentication methods available" message!
Forget about using IE, I haven't been able to view FTP folders via IE for a while... I tried probably 10 different FTP/SSH clients most no go (unless from my own linux server).

Anyways, I did spend some quality time setting this whole thing up and it's frustrated not to be able to work with things that should be no biggy!

Not to mention that everytime I need some info about FTP/SSH connections I need to run a search on the forum cause there is not documentation anywhere else (the stuff that was emailed to use seems to be, well outdated at this point).

Please help Sad

PS: I still think that you guys' services/support rocks. I just wish there was a bit more communication as far as what is going on... thank god my site isn't mission critical or I'd be screwed!

Sam-

Im pretty sure that this has nothing to do with any security updates that have taken place - and Im positive that Ive answered back to your email about this same situation.

It looks like its all because of the username change that this is occuring. Im not sure exactly why the username had to change - but once it did, the sites were moved to the new username, but not everything was updated.

I know that when you did email me, I did go over with a fine toothed comb and make sure everything was on the right username. I may have missed something, but in my checks tonight, I do see that everything is fine on this end. I was able to login via both SSH and ftp, and able to place and remove a file from each domain.

Please make sure you are using the updated username (with 2000) and password.

Let me know if you have more issues.

Thanks.

Ok somehow I can now connect (couldn't the other day) with via both FTP/SSH.

I'm still having a problem modifying (delete and replace) files that are in a protected directory. It's giving me access denied trying to remove, or modify files (I can transfer them back to my PC). Neither FTPing nor SSH will allow me to do anything. The permission still seems to be in a place, I never had to log on using the protected directory username to change anything within that folder.

Any ideas?

Sam-

It may have been an ownership error on the specific file you were trying to remove. Ive reset the ownership for all the files and all domains to match what it should be.

Let me know if you are still having issues.

Thanks.
